I had a teams call with their data science team. My camera on, theirs off. I introduce myself and walk through my project—mid-sentence, silence. The first interviewer has simply left with no warning. After some time, another guy joins. Still no camera and asked me to continue. I asked if he's heard anything so far. He hasn't but wants me to continue. I wrap it fast. No offer, obviously. The second time, they asked for my CV and rejected—"insufficient technical detail in project descriptions." No metrics selection, no RAG architecture, no re-ranking methodology. As if anyone stuffs design docs into a CV. I noticed they just continue hiring data scientist, data science lead, ML team lead. Same roles, new titles. High turnover dressed up as growth.
