Interview Experience – Misleading Assignment
It was basically a scam.
They made me solve an assignment, which was actually their internal project they wanted someone to build for free. I was given 2 days to make a React application with FastAPI as backend to show data analytics of various cities in India and mark them on the Indian map.
Then the interview was conducted. The interviewer asked me to explain everything in the project I had made — the project structure, how to set it up locally, and almost every single line of code. I explained around 90% of it correctly.
After that, the interviewer suddenly gave me a DSA question from Graphs (Topological Sorting). It was clear they just wanted to reject me by claiming I didn’t perform well, even though I had completed the assignment properly.
What a joke — a 5 LPA company asking Graph-level questions after getting a full project done for free.
Please don’t fall into this trap. Many scam companies today are doing the same — using “assessments” to get their projects done by freshers for free and then quietly rejecting them. They take advantage of how desperate freshers are for jobs.
