About a handful of interview stages. Started with HR, then with the team lead, then with the management and finally with the whole team. This was for an intermediate technical position so the interviews focused on prior technical experience and skills. Also some questions to see personal character / behavior, like how to deal with difficult situations and challenges. No problem solving questions or puzzles.

I had a first interview with someone at the NIF for a software developer position. The interview went pretty smoothly and wasn't too detailed or technical; we mostly talked about a broad overview of the position and my background and experiences. After the interview, he told me that LLNL would reach out to me in about a week to let me know if I made it to the next round of interviews. However, 3 weeks passed without receiving any response. After these 3 weeks, I sent a followup email to ask if they had any update, and currently have still not received any reply several days later. LLNL's behavior on their part to completely ghost a candidate after already conducting an interview is shocking, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. It's even worse when you realize that they use taxpayer dollars to pay their employees to interview potential candidates, just to ghost them afterwards.
