I applied online. I interviewed at Latitude Information Security in Dec 2020
Interview
The interview process was a JOKE. I can't decide if it was the worst interview process I've ever been subjected to or not.
I was contacted for a 15 minute screening call by the recruiter. I had no issue with that - at first. The recruiter rushed me through the entire call, tried to interrupt me several times as I told her my background, and ended the call in a rush after 8 minutes. She set up another 15 minute phone call with the cofounder for me.
Now, I assumed that there was no way it was only going to be 15 minutes. I thought, "they're giving the cofounder an easy way out in case the interview is bad, but surely I really have 30 minutes.". No. I asked him for clarification at the beginning and he confirmed I had 15 minutes. What are we going to achieve in 15 minutes? He started the interview by letting me know he didn't prepare for the interview, told me 4 separate times he had never heard of the large public university I attended, and then proceeded to google it while I spoke. He asked me my background and then cut me off half way through and told me to "cut to the chase" and asked another question. Then he proceeded to give me some tough guy spiel about how "this is a company where you work hard and you answer calls and emails at night off of the work schedule" and "blood, sweat, and tears". I'm not sure how long he's been in the security industry, but working around the clock is pretty common. It was incredibly patronizing the way he lectured me about "if I can't work hard he'll find somebody that will." He then continued to ask me the same exact yes/no questions the recruiter asked me 4 days prior, telling me there was 0 communication between them and they were completely wasting my time.
After this interview the recruiter reached out to me to set up ANOTHER 15 minute interview with the OTHER cofounder. I asked her for a 30 minute interview, because I felt that I wasn't able to ask questions about the company or gather much information about the culture or "fit" for me in such a short amount of time. She said she'd see what she could do and then I never heard from her again.
To be clear, I was never planning on accepting an offer, I just wanted to see how far the rabbit hole went. But it was entirely unprofessional, a clown show, and infuriating to say the least.
