I received a phone call from the area manager in Kent, inquiring about my indeed.com application and requesting that I interview with them. I accepted.
The interview took about one hour. There were two interviewers, one of whom barely spoke. The interviewer who did speak was very likable; however, his questions were aimed more at trying to figure out how much effort they could get from me and how easy it would be to handle me, rather than specific skill set type questions, or hypothetical/likely situations I may encounter and how I would handle myself should they occur. I walked away feeling a little cheated because I did not believe they asked very astute questions.
What it really boiled down to is this: They needed someone and I fit the bill, I was interested in learning new government software, and I was looking for a job. They offered me the position a few days later and I accepted, but my intuition told me I may be stepping into a pile of existing problems that I might be required to solve. As it turns out, my intuition was spot on.
