Labman Automation Graduate Mechanical Engineer interview questions

An initial telephone interview was conducted containing 40 general science knowledge questions and a general chat about interests and my CV. This was followed by an assessment centre style day. This involved a day of interviewing followed by a meal with an overnight stay in a local hotel for candidates not from the local area. The day began with a site tour this was followed by interviews comprised of 6 test stations in which a task had to be completed in 5 minutes these were: Wire a plug Solder wires to a d connector Make a test tube rack from paper Describe how to open a jar without referring to clocks Describe how a car jack works General talk with staff Following this there was a group exercise in which a pick and mix machine had to be designed for a fictional client. This was followed by an evening meal.
