Met with the recruiter and was passed on to my first interview with the hiring manager. We had a great chat and I was moved on to the next round, where I was asked to put together a work sample assessment and turn it around / submit within 48 hrs... This is where I should've bowed out. I prepared diligently for my next round with three director-level managers. However, one didn't even bother to show up at the time of the call and the other two made zero mention of the work assignment I was planning to present. They jumped right into the call taking turns asking typical interview questions for half an hour until near the end one asked if I had anything to add or questions, to which I replied with a bit of confusion that I had the work assignment prepped to present, so I went forward with it presenting to what felt like a hasty, inattentive audience who were just ready to get off the call. I followed the call with a kind thank you for their time and received no reply... A few days passed and still no word, so I followed up with the first hiring manager I met with, also no reply. The next day I got an automated rejection email. Bullet dodged? I'd say yes.
