      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Kubrick Group (London, England) in Dec 2023

      Interview

An online assessment that consists of a pre-recorded video interview, a logic/IQ-style test and a test with more long-form written answers about your commercial awareness, it could be quite unfamiliar to someone totally new to the field so it would be useful to do a little research into commercial applications of data beforehand just to get a general idea. After this there is a 30 min phone interview with more technically focused questions and some general questions on commercial uses and your understanding of the company/scheme you're applying for. The last interview is a video interview also about 30 mins long, it's less technical and generally more laid back than the phone interview and is more focused on whether you'd be a good cultural fit with some more commercially focused questions. The communication through each stage was very clear and they get back to you quickly about whether you're successful and any questions you have. There aren't any questions to throw you off or that you wouldn't be prepared for and you are told before each stage what kind of things they're looking for and what to focus on in your research/answers which is helpful.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Explain a bit about your background, why did you decide to apply to kubrick, what is your understanding of the training they offer, behavioural questions about how you would respond to different situations, examples of commercial use of data that has had a high impact
      Answer question

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kubrick Group (London, England) in Oct 2022

      Interview

1: Hireview Interview; given 4 questions with unlimited time to prep and 3 tries per question. Tell me about yourself, Why D.E, Examples of commercial uses of data and why impact has been so high, Tell me about a time you used data 2: Phone Interview: very informal, they're trying to understand who you are and what you know about Kubrick, not technical at all. Competency questions and questions about Kubrick. E.G "tell me about a time you led and worked in a team" , "tell me about you", " what do you know about Kubricks business model". overall very informal and you have to be willing to relocate otherwise you cannot go on further with the interview. Ask good questions at this stage too! 3: Assessments: I was told i am through to the next stage at the end of the phone call; i had 5 days to complete 3 assessments; 1 commercial acumen test which had 3 questions (30mark, 15mark and 15mark, given 45 mins). Research how companies make and use flowcharts to help their business, how businesses should and could transfer to an online presence and what they need to do to increase sales. Part two was a logic test, given an hour to complete - honestly im terrible at these but i practised a lot via online practise tests. Part 3 was a presentation, most important part as it shows them how you gather information and communicate it, do research about the question you pick (they give you two in an email and you just choose one). I would recommend when you do the presentation, make is visually pleasing and tied to kubrick (use their logo, colour schemes etc) 4: Final interview over Teams: if you treat it like a conversation rather than an interview you can build a relationship with the senior member who's interviewing you. Mix of competency questions and commercial questions (written below). DO your research!!! over prepping is never bad and they get so many applications a week so make sure you know about the company and the role/stream your applying to very well. Be enthusiastic and ask questions throughout (dont cut the interviewee off with this though). Ask good questions at the end also, show youre interested in Kubrick. Overall, it is a rigorous interview process but it can be done and enjoyable if you really want it! They also are very friendly and helpful throughout the process, your recruiter is always there to help and they give you a lot of documented support too.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kubrick Group (London, England) in Jun 2022

      Interview

There are 4 stages past the initial CV application: a recorded video interview (no interviewer), a telephone interview, an online assessment centre (metric test, logic test, presentation) and then a final interview. Kubrick give plenty of guidance for what to expect in the upcoming stages so that you can best prepare and show yourself in the best light. All interactions I had with the recruitment team were extremely pleasant and they made the process very relaxing. From my initial application to offer took 3 weeks, but I'm sure this could be reduced if I had had more availability for making interviews earlier etc. 3 weeks suited my schedule though, it didn't feel rushed or not quick enough.
