I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Kraft Heinz (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2018
Interview
EMBARRASSING
I will state the recruiter was super helpful and transparent. The real shocker was during the interview. I always prepare diligently for every interview. The job description made sense and I met the basic requirements. The recruiter also thought I would be a good fit. During my in person interview it became apparent that I was clearly extremely under qualified. My first interview was with the director of S&OP and when the interview started my heart sank into my stomach. I thought I was in the wrong place or maybe he was interviewing me for a different role by mistake. Nope, that was the right place.
I was in disbelief and pulled out the JD again. The interviewer was very disappointed and everything was way over my head from a technical standpoint and it got to the point where we were both looking at each other as if there was no point to even continue. It was awkward and frustrating for the both of us. I had also taken a PTO day for this interview.
After that painful conversation, I had 2 more with interviews with the hiring manager and another manager. They smiled through it and assured me I was a great fit and they would provide me with all of the technical training. They each lied and said I was a great fit just to get this interview over as painlessly as possible.
If you look online Kraft gets a lot of criticism for the way they operate. Where there's smoke there's fire. I learned a lot about them by this interview alone. I think this is a testament to their lack of organization and disconnect between departments.

Question 1
Give me an example of something highly technical and explain it to me in lamens terms?
Recruiter had no idea who to recruit. The in person interview was a disaster. I felt compelled to get up and leave as it became apparent I was indeed not qualified for this job. The hiring manager was very displeased and looked visibly frustrated when talking to me and asking me questions about my experience which he said had no relevance to the job. Huge waste of time for everyone involvled.
