Kohls Manager In Training Program Interview

      12 Sept 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Antelope, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kohl's (Antelope, CA) in Aug 2015

      Interview

Got contatced by a recruiter that got my information from school, did some online testing and a phone interview then got asked to do a one on one with the regional manager from the area. They kept re-scheduling me which was a red flag for me since I dislike people wasting my time and not being organized. When I finally went to the interview I had low expectations but what came next felt more like a joke. As I waited for my interview the regional manager came out of her office, went into the bathroom which was conveniently located next to the waiting area then came out with napkins in hand and extended her hand for me to shake. I was a bit grossed out and disgusted not only by the gesture but the lack of professionalism. As I went in the office filled with family photos and kids "art" which was very distracting, she told me she had to send a text before we started. By then I wanted to run out but stayed, you could tell she had other things on her mind because she kept talking about her family and not really focusing on the interview. I seriously got asked like three questions. Tell me about yourself, have you dealt with problematic people, and if I was ok with working during holidays, extended hours, and doing grunt work when necessary. Other than that, nothing else. After the interview I ran out as quick as possible and as expected never got any feedback or a nice "no thanks" email. Total waste of time.
