The scheduling/interview process was straightforward and unremarkable. Standard questions about personal background, work/education history, personal goals, and discussion of the role itself.
The reason I am leaving this review is because the position I applied for was *not* the position I was interviewed for, and this only came to my attention upon receiving the rejection email. The title of the position I applied for was "Home Visitor and Family Support Specialist", while the title of the position in the rejection email was "Parenting From Prison Program Manager".
It was clear which job I was applying for; I put the title of the job in the *subject line* of my application email (which contained a resume and cover letter), and again included the title of the job in my cover letter. Upon realizing that the title of the position I was interviewed/considered for was not consistent with the position I actually applied for, I reached out to Kids First and was not given a good explanation about what occurred regarding the inconsistency in job title.
When I checked Kids First website yesterday, the morning of Jan. 22, 2025, the titled position I applied for ("Home Visitor and Family Support Specialist") was no longer listed, despite being visible during the time of my interview/application process.
Had I been aware of the difference in title, I may not have applied/interviewed, especially given the amount of travel necessary in order to attend this interview.
The lack of consistency regarding job title during the interview process, and the absence of a good explanation of what occurred after it was brought to their attention, was troubling. I would certainly encourage anyone who might go through the application process to be deliberate/specific about title in order to clearly determine the actual position one is being considered for.
