      I interviewed at Kauffman School

      Interview

I went through 4 rounds of interviews. One on the phone and three virtual with different people. During the third interview, I asked for the pay range for the job. HR didn't have an answer because they were in the process of reworking the pay and told me they would get back with me. During the fourth interview I again asked for the pay range. I was told that that person didn't know, but would find out and get back with me. I inquired about the day to day involved in the position and was never given a clear answer, but was asked how I would operate in this position, what I would improve, and what specifically I would do to fulfill the job requirements which seemed an odd thing to expect from a person who hasn't been employed yet. I was told after the fourth interview that they planned to make their decision by the end of that week and get back to me the following week. They did not. After two weeks of silence, I was given an email with a large assignment from them to accomplish within 3 days. It would have taken several hours to complete. By then over a month had passed and I had procured a different job offer, so I withdrew my application. It seems unprofessional to have a candidate go through so many rounds of interviews, then ghost them for two weeks and then ask them to work for you for free. I'm no stranger to skills assessments or preparing presentations during the interview process, but the assignment seemed excessive and it felt like they wanted me to do their work for free. This was especially concerning when very basic questions about the position like salary range are not provided.
