I interviewed at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions (Round Rock, TX)
Interview
Applied online, got a text the next day asking to set up an interview, then one zoom interview that was 15-30 minutes. Heard back that afternoon that I had gotten it and accepted it.
Nothing much. Just record video on introducing yourself on background, intention to join the program and company as well as some traits that describe you well. Pretty simple and can be prepared in short period of time
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions (Sandusky, OH) in Jan 2025
Interview
Video conference. Introductory video sent prior to the conference. Interviewer did not review my credentials thoroughly prior to the call. The interviewer painted a negative picture of the location. Indicated that a gym would not have time to work on executive education goals, quoted a $200-250k salary for the role with a $100million target. Asked how I would rate his interviewing skills. Contradicted himself throughout the interview. Stressed how hard the job was, but never shared benefits of working for the company. Ended with, “if you feel I am taking too long to get back to you, feel free to reach out to me.” Overall, the feeling was “why did this interviewer set up an interview to insult my intelligence throughout the conference only to sabotage the call?”

Question 1
You have worked in big cities your entire career. Why would you want to move to a small town in the middle of nowhere?
