I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kajabi (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
Applied to Kajabi via LinkedIn. The recruiter reached out by email, and I was easily able to schedule a 30-minute interview. The interview was over Zoom, and the recruiter was super friendly, had read my resume, and was even excited about my side project in development. We had a great conversation about Kajabi and their direction.
Normally, companies proceed to a technical screen or online assessment; however, I was scheduled for a one-hour interview directly with the mobile engineering manager. The interview was friendly and easy, but they ultimately felt it wasn’t a match. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to interview with a hiring manager, as this is typically the final step. Kajabi honored my time by not putting me through multiple rounds of technical DSA questions, sample app creation, and system design exercises before first ensuring there was a culture and leadership fit.
In retrospect, I may have been too candid about some of the challenges in my last position, or too opinionated by recommending 3rd party impartial manual testing despite high test coverage and automation efforts.

Question 1
Standard behavioral questions typical of hiring manager interviews
Deep dive into past and current experience, focusing on successes, failures, best practices, interaction and communication skills with team, management and stake-holders.
Topics included DevOps, debugging, firefighting skills, and app-architecture.
I recently interviewed at Kajabi for a Senior Webflow Developer role, and honestly, it was one of the better experiences I've had. The interviewer was super friendly and set a relaxed tone from the start, explaining the company and process so I always felt in the loop. They genuinely listened to my background, instead of just running through a checklist.
The technical part actually related to what I’d do on the job—they gave me a clear, real-world Webflow assignment with space to be creative, and I could ask questions if anything was unclear. When I spoke with the hiring manager, it felt like a real conversation, not an interrogation: we discussed projects I was proud of, how I tackle challenges, and where I want to grow. I got a great sense of how they value leadership and initiative without acting like gatekeepers.

Question 1
What is your background in web development and how does it relate to the role?
The interview experience I had at Kajabi was exceptional. The Head of TA is one of the best interviewers you will ever meet and ensures all the candidates are adequately prepared for their upcoming interviews. I felt throughout the entire process that I was seen, valued and respected as a candidate, which is rare in today's landscape. The team genuinely got to know me professionally but also personally as a human. I was even given direct feedback after the process, in a phone conversation after an offer was not extended. This process just showed me what I am looking for in an organization and I hope to have the possibility to contribute here in the future. The team is truly exceptional.
