I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kaiju Den (Singapore) in Dec 2018
Interview
Heard all the not so nice news about the company but came with an open mind and open heart to see whats in store.
Came 5 mins early. Was told interview would be conducted in a very messy storeroom that is actually their pantry. Found out interviewer JUST left for lunch, so I had to wait half an hour more. Even after lunch, interviewer came in to chit chat(obvious chit chat can be heard from the pantry) with employees. So another 10 mins wait.
Interviewer is the CEO, "reviewed" portfolio and tries to give a critique on every piece saying how bad it was, even though portfolio was given green light after being reviewed by a professional renowned mentor, so jokes on him. Im open to critiques, but im sure he was just being nitpicky (why is this written up here, why is this line off, why is there no banner here etc) Interviewer tries to justify that other professionals dont know what they are talking about regarding concept art and states he doesn't know such and such person(despite them being more renowned than he is). Interviewer then continues to repeat the same thing again and again till he finally decided to "offer" an art test. I asked if I could be given the test a week later since my week is already filled with art tests and other interviews. I was then asked prying questions about the companies i applied for. I respectfully declined to divulge it. Interviewer got angry somehow and ended the interview.
