I applied online. I interviewed at Kabbe Law Group
Interview
My interview consisted initially of a couple of phone calls during which I felt a friendly interest and concern for my professional growth emanating from the interviewer. Not only did she wish to ensure a good fit for the firm, but a positive advancement of my career as well. Following these conversations, I was invited to the office to meet the full team and answer their questions also. Each team member posed an intriguing question that was challenging yet insightful, indicating to me that this firm cares about their employees and respects their input in all phases of operations, even hiring new team members.

Interview
1) An engaging phone interview was with the firm’s founder, whom I had found to be astonishingly warm and personable. The process seemed more like talking to a long-lost friend versus a stranger, and actually didn’t seem like an “interview" at all!
They did not have this additional step when I applied, but a few months ago the firm hired a consulting company that works on pre-qualifying candidates even more before they are invited for a final team interview. From what I heard, this involves some kind of personality testing system that digs deep into how a person thinks/ what a person values.
This is done because the firm is extremely picky to hire not only those who are “super stars” in technical skills but also makes a big deal out of doing all they can to find people of impeccable character and integrity.
This is really good for the current team too so we don’t have to worry about office politics and drama I have seen at other places.
2) This call was followed by an in-office interview with the firm’s partners; resulting in a subsequent second interview facilitated by the remainder of the team. I had found this final interview impressive, in that I had the opportunity to meet the other team members in determining if we would be a good fit to work together as a whole. I really enjoy all the team members on a personal level!

Question 1
“give 2 examples from any of your jobs of a mistake you made, and how you felt about, and how you handled it”;
“why does area of estate planning interest you”
“how would your friends describe you to someone who does not know you"

Interview
There is a phone interview that lasts an hour, followed by 2 lengthy in-person interviews, the last of which is with the entire staff. The full team is pulled away from their very busy day to sit awkwardly in an interview, which is a strain on the office. The interview is difficult, in that it is bizarre compared to most others. Negative experiences with former employees are mentioned on a frequent basis, and these individuals are sometimes referred to by their first names. The questions come across as accusatory.
