I interviewed for their product manager position with the Berlin team. Although, all interviews were held virtually I had the chance to meet a lot of different team members from their various offices - Berlin, Zurich, Boston.
The complete interview process was very smooth and swift. The steps included:
1. 30 mins - Recruiter screening - The recruiter in charge of the product position extremely helpful, had good knowledge about the role and the next steps. I was asked general behavioral and culture fit questions.
2. 30 mins - Interview with Hiring Manager - I interviewed with the Head of Product in Berlin. We connected really well and had a friendly chat. He didn't ask any specific questions, just used the call as an opportunity to get to know each other. Be prepared with all the questions you have for the role, team, and the company to ask the hiring manager.
3. Case Study - Standard product case study
4. Final Step: 2.5 hr virtual onsite interview with various stakeholders - I had 30-minute interviews with engineering, design, and commercial each. The interviewers were very friendly and it was mostly to understand my working style and culture fit. Followed by a 60-minute product exercise with two Sr team members. The exercise was very unique and a great opportunity to demonstrate your collaboration skills.
Overall, I loved meeting the different team members, everyone was extremely friendly, open, and genuine. The recruiter was prompt in her responses and very helpful through the interview process.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a job offer from them as I didn't do so well during the product exercise. I would suggest practice a lot of mock interviews and product exercises, before your final round with friends and colleagues.
Along with the rejection email, the recruiter offered specific feedback on what went wrong and what I should focus on for the next time.
