I sent my resume and cover letter to the owner of the agency. Because therapists are welcomed at almost any time, I was offered an interview immediately. Basic questions about my experience and credentials were asked. There were some questions about ethics since confidentiality and ethical behavior are very important in the counseling profession. The interview was informal and relaxed. I was asked how many hours I would be planning to work. Some evenings are required to build up a case load. It also takes a few months to build up a case load, so be prepared for not having the income right away. The agency has been around for 25+ years, so it is very well established. That was good to know for job security. I met different staff members and therapists. Everyone was very nice. It was not intimidating at all.
