I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at John Deere in Jan 2011
Interview
I was first interviewed over the phone by a recruiter. Pretty laid back conversation with standard interview questions. I was then moved to an on-site interview at one of their many offices in Moline, IL. I was interviewed by two separate accountants, who were both in the internship program themselves. They gave me great explanation of the internship program and provided a lot of useful advice. I wasn't quite sure which company I wanted to work for at that time, so I ended up asking a lot of questions out of curiosity. This worked in my advantage and they called me the next afternoon with an offer.
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at John Deere (Moline, IL) in Sept 2016
Interview
Two individuals interviewed me, with one asking questions and the other writing my responses down. One of the individuals explained the behavioral interview process to me, and didn't really ask me about myself other than a couple aspects of my resume

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at John Deere (Moline, IL) in Sept 2014
Interview
The interview process started at the on campus career fair where I met with campus representatives. From there, I had an interview on campus. After my interview on campus I was notified that I was invited for a second round of interviews. They flew me in to headquarters where I had 4 interviews back to back with different accounting leaders. After my interviews, I got a tour of headquarters.
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at John Deere (Baldwin City, KS) in Sept 2014
Interview
During the interview they will start by basically going through your resume and they ask you to tell them about your experience and your education. After that they will ask you a few questions related to the internship position. Once you have answered the questions they will take you on a tour of the office and introduce you to everyone and they'll even show you some of the work interns work on. That concludes the interview and then they say they'll get in touch with you. It's very laid back, they tell you to dress casual and don't even call it an interview they just say they want to discuss the position with you.
