DO NOT INTERVIEW HERE unless you're really desperate!
I was invited to join an online interview after receiving an invitation with only one time-slot available (which should have been a red flag). They also would not share any salary information before scheduling. With a company name like Joe Homebuyer, I guess I should have expected what was about to unfold.
When I attended the interview, I wondered if I had joined at the wrong time because I saw other candidates introducing themselves as they came on. But then I quickly realized the recruiter had intentionally scheduled all the candidates together in the same video call! The interviewers instructed us to introduce (basically sell) ourselves in front of everyone. We were then asked to take turns answering questions about our experience which felt extremely weird and awkward. They also asked us to share our experience with technical skills not listed in the job description. It was also odd to see the small group of interviewers all wearing company hats during the interview.
I felt like I was on a recorded show competing with several other people and having to say why I matter and why I'm worthy of the job. It was unprofessional and humiliating to have to listen to other candidates essentially compare themselves to you. No professional company does this and this clearly shows they don’t want people with self-respect.
After 5 minutes of this terrible experience, I simply disconnected from the session and sent a nastygram to the recruiter for not being more transparent about their terrible interview process. Stay away!
