The online application consisted of a rather long series of self-reflexive personality questions that likely served as a way to score a potential candidate's job performance and worth. I was asked to drive a considerable distance to have my on-on-one interview with the store manager. The interview consisted of a generic list of questions pertaining to retail experience and customer service. Some mock scenarios were introduced, such as "what would you do if...?". Nearing the end of the interview, as a final test, the manager asked me to pair a few shirts and ties with two sport coats she had picked out and vice versa. I was a little bit shocked that the manager gave me the job on the spot without a formal offer on paper or follow-up call.
