      Frontend Engineer Interview

      21 Jul 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hamburg
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Jimdo (Hamburg) in Jul 2018

      Interview

It's kind of weird because I thought I will get an offer. I applied through a job post on StackOverflow. They gave me a project with a deadline of a week. I finished it within 2 days and submitted it. They contacted me after 3 weeks and arranged a meeting a week later. Then they rescheduled it another week later. The video interview was good. I was interviewed by an HR and a Developer. From a technical perspective they only asked me whether I'm comfotable with Typescript or not and that's it. I said yes. They told me that they will talk to the people team and let me know. Then after 2 days the HR told me that my application didn't match their expectation. I mean, are you kidding me or what? How can you know whether I know something or not if you don't ask for a separate technical interview to prove myself first? Very disappointing.

      4 Dec 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Hamburg
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Jimdo (Hamburg) in Sept 2020

      Interview

Great interview process. There are several interviews with hiring personnel and managers, technical interviews, and one with the team that you might work with. The soft skill interviews have enough time for questions. They're interested in knowing about you and also have you know about them, because then you'll see if you're a good fit for the company. Coding tests are great, it's not working alone in an algorithm or a take-home test. You've to show not only that you're a developer that knows their stuff but also that you can work well with others.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Questions about my background, previous jobs, why I was interested in working at Jimdo.
