It was good. Come prepared to answer questions about the company. Come prepared to tell them about yourself. Come prepared to answer why you would be a good fit for working with this company.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at JZW Architects in May 2019
Interview
I made a connection with one of the workers, who suggested to me that they were looking for a content manager. I sent him my portfolio as requested, and an interview was arranged. I thought the interview went pretty well. I was told that they wanted me to interview with the man who would be my direct supervisor.
I waited a week, then contacted them to ask if we were going to arrange that interview. I got a very strange, cryptic voicemail that said that while he thought I could bring "valuable skills and experience" to the company, they had to look at the timeline and didn't think they could hire me as quickly as I was hoping to be hired, but that they would likely call me in a couple of weeks, and to ask him if I had any questions. I called him back and left a voicemail saying I was interested in talking about it and to see what he was thinking, as I was potentially willing to wait.
No answer. No call two weeks later. Absolutely nothing. What a strange ending. I value directness and communication, so I am not exactly happy with how that went down.
