I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Bengaluru) in Oct 2011
Interview
Involved a standard written test, which had a quant section and a coding section, as well as a verbal and comprehension section. This part was fairly simple, and similar to a lot of other written tests.
Shortlisted candidates were summoned for a panel interview. They asked me questions based on my areas of interest which were networking and databases. They told me about the position offered, in the security and data management team.
I was asked about my final year engineering project, and I outlined the design and implementation parts. Since the job involved a fair amount of network management, and my coding skills were judged sound, I was led to another interviewer, who probed me further on networks.
He asked me a fairly simple set of questions on computer networks, the usual protocol stuff. I was also asked about NetSNMP, which I had made use of for my academic project.
Behavioural, standard psychometric testing. Asked me about my background, why I wanted JPM, things to look out for, what the markets are like, why I wanted to start in investment banking.
I applied online. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (Kuala Lumpur) in Nov 2023
Interview
it was moderate with hirevue online interview where there will be 3 questions to be answered within the time limit. However, the time given to answer the question was sufficient and can be tolerated.
Hirevue Interview/Video interview
Five questions, four were behavioural, and one was a technical question. Each question was limited to 1 minute and 30 seconds response time, and one retry was allowed.
