At the very end of two hours was told that only 13 or 15 out of all the people there ( seemed like at least fifty) would be "chosen" as volunteers. That is absurd. It is like the intro episode to the Bachelor. Not even water offered over the course of two hours. Seems like a "you are lucky to be be here volunteer opportunity" . Do they not realize that some of the people who attend are donors- as I am- ( or could be donors)? So much about Isabella Stewart Gardner- as it should be. So much about She/here/them. So much about DE and I. All good things. They however forget about the value of making people feel respected and welcome. Because I love the museum, have donated , and thought they could use what I offer as a volunteer I hope to do it but the rather entitled process is really not good. Funny how people who are so hung up on woke labels can be the worst when it comes to sending a warm and open vibe, stuffy in their own exclusive way .
