I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Intralinks (Boston, MA) in Oct 2012
Interview
3-5 Rounds all with Product Managers, Engineering Managers and SVP Product. There is one screening round typically, followed by 1:1.
Basic questions about background. Doesn't get very technical. They mostly go with your experience and prefer men.
A recruiter reached out to me for availability and set up a time for a call. After that recruiter didn't call and when I sent an email that we will have to reschedule this call. No response. Have some respect for others time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Intralinks (Waltham, MA) in Apr 2016
Interview
Was a very comprehensive interview - met with 6 associates over 2 hours. Impressed that these associates were willing/able to give their time to meet with a prospective employee. They were well prepared, thoughtful and gave me a great sense of the opportunity and the company. Rated the interview 'difficult' rather than 'average'. The interview was not hard or uncomfortable, but it was not average in that it was very thorough.

Interview
The first phone screening with the recruiter went smoothly. We discuss experience as it pertained to the position. The recruiter was very optimistic about the match so I was referred to the hiring manager; this is where things did not go well.
The hiring manager could not get over the word "architect" in the title of my last position. Basically turned deaf and closed minded to anything I had to say, completely ignoring the fact that my duties had been those of a product manager. This person was fixated on letting me know that this was not a technical position, which I knew very well; and had even dismissed me as a candidate prior to the call.
A complete waste of time.
I was disappointed at first, but later realized that I probably did not want to work for someone like that anyway; who would be so obtuse to the point of not even trusting the recruiter and allow for an open interview.

Why would you even consider applying for this non-technical job, when you are a technical person?
