Longest interview process ever for a role that didn't exist. I was contacted by Instacart to apply for a position. Went through a phone screening, technical interview, second phone screening, hiring manager interview, and finally a brief interview with the director. This was over a 6 week period (scheduling issues they said). After the interview process was complete I was informed that they wouldn't be making a decision because they were waiting to get headcount for the role. It would seem that was something to be done prior to starting a process that took almost 2 months without resolution.
