I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Instacart (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021
Interview
1. Phone Screen with recruiter
2. Phone screen with hiring manager
3. Assessment
3. Panel interview with hiring manager + 3 other people
Overall a long 2 month process that kept being extended and extended.
The actual interview process was seamless and easy for the most part albeit lengthy. I was gonna say this was probably the most convenient interview process I had until the recruiter completely ghosted me. The hiring decision kept being stalled and delayed, which is fine - it happens - and the recruiter kept me updated along the way.
Where this process left a bad taste in my mouth was how suddenly the recruiter just stopped responding. I spent hours preparing for the interview and the assessment and after a decision kept being delayed she just stopped responding. Super unprofessional.
The hiring manager was also unfriendly. It's quite uncomfortable to sit a whole 5 minutes through the beginning of a zoom interview with just the hiring manager and yourself, waiting for the rest of the panel to join - and NOT saying a single word. I tried to small talk with her and she just wasn't engaged. Super rude and unprofessional.
Applied online. Process started with an HR review and then a hiring manager screen; still in the process now. Will update once completed. Process has been pretty straightforward so far.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Instacart
Interview
Hiring manager call, then execution interview
Last round was product presentation, leadership interview, and second interview with hiring manager.
Execution was standard execution interview, and hiring manager calls were mostly focused on ensuring I had right skillset and was a good fit for the role
