HR called me; they said they are hiring and mentioned “we work a lot and we have a lot of fun.”
Besides finding my expectations high, I also said that if you are working 9 to 9 for 6 months of the year, that’s not for me. I have a life outside of work—I spend time with my friends, my girlfriend, and my family.
Because of that, they gave a negative response without even asking further or really discussing it.
Apparently, they say they “have a lot of fun” as compensation—like they are offering a kind of entertainment that my friends and family supposedly can’t provide. 🙂
It feels like they are looking for people who will just work excessively like workers.
They are definitely on my blacklist. I wouldn’t recommend them to my friends or younger people at all.
If you are going to spend the best years of your life working that much, work for yourself—not to make company owners richer in exchange for what they call “fun.”
