I interviewed at Une Forte / First.com, and the experience raised several concerns. The interview took place in a very small room with a large CCTV camera, which felt uncomfortable and overly monitored. The CEO appeared extremely stressed and lacked people skills, and it was difficult not to link this to the poor performance of the business she has built.
As I walked through the office, I noticed even more cameras, and the staff looked visibly unhappy. The CEO displayed a totalitarian attitude, creating an environment that felt tense, restrictive, and completely out of line with normal UK workplace culture.
I ultimately rejected the role because of the current CEO and the culture she has created. Unless there is a change in leadership, I would not consider joining. I also have no interest in working for a failing, low-growth business.
