I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Inkitt (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2025
Interview
I had a quick reply about an initial screen, fast schedule and within a day, confirmation I'd move to hiring manager and the interview complete within 2 more days. Great. Then no movement. Until about a month later where I was tapped to do the assessment. I got very positive reactions via email and was asked to schedule a panel interview where I'd share my case study. That interview was interesting. Two people asking a handful of questions. One asked 3 questions about one topic that was a very narrow part of what I presented. I told him I wasn't an expert in that one area and if we used this one idea (of about 12), I would certainly do more research. Very shortly after that, I was told there were others whose skills were in better alignment. Despite asking for more feedback, no more was given and not other reply. It was unsettling that I could get positive response to what I created only to be told after presenting that my skills weren't a fit. I had the same skills when I did hours of work to create that presentation. Additionally, weeks later, the job was reposted again.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Inkitt
Interview
I reached out to the HR team with my resume and cover letter. I received a request to interview over the phone with the business development head about a week later. I was given a conference call link which was terrific as it meant I didn't need to incur international calling charges. The call went well, and I was asked a few days later to schedule a video interview. I thought everything went very well. I followed up after both interviews with thank you emails. I did not receive an acknowledgement of my email after the video call. Then a month later I received an email out of the blue about a wholly different position at the company from HR with no mention of my prior interviews. I wasn't interested in the position (and my experience was entirely unrelated to it), so I politely declined to apply for it. I then reached back out to the business development head to confirm they were not going forward with my application. I never heard back from anyone at the company and was essentially ghosted.

Question 1
If you roll dice, how likely are you to come up with the number 6? (and a few variations of that question)
Hi there,
