      Customer Development Representative Interview

      29 Jul 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Infoblox in Mar 2024

      Interview

Disappointing Candidate Experience My experience applying for a position at Infoblox was quite challenging and ultimately disappointing. I applied for an open role and was contacted by an HR representative a few days later. As a non-EU resident, I need to meet a specific salary requirement to obtain a work visa, which I communicated clearly during our first call. A week later, the HR representative confirmed that the requested salary was acceptable, and since the company was on the visa sponsor list, I believed everything was in order. The process lasted three months and included five interviews (each 45 minutes long), two tests (a personality test and a UTAC), and four references, all of whom were contacted by the HR representative to complete a detailed form. Throughout the process, there were several red flags. Responses from the HR representative often took a week or more, and scheduling the next round of interviews was slow. The tests were given after four interviews, which seemed unusual, as such assessments are typically conducted earlier to gauge basic suitability. After completing all the steps, the HR representative informed me that the team liked me and they were ready to make an offer. However, the base salary offered was insufficient for my visa requirements. This was particularly frustrating because I had been transparent about this necessity from the beginning. When I reminded her, she vaguely recalled this crucial detail and said they’d try to find a solution. After several weeks of waiting and following up, I was eventually told they couldn't meet the salary requirement. This was after dedicating three months to the process and involving four former colleagues for references. I want to emphasize that my review is not a critique of Infoblox as a company. I think they have a great product and the employees and managers I interacted with were pleasant and professional. However, the HR department’s handling of my situation was disappointing. The lack of timely communication and the prolonged process without clear updates were frustrating. A standard rejection after the initial call would have been far preferable to the drawn-out experience I had. I hope this feedback helps improve their candidate experience in the future.
