      Inside Sales Representative Interview

      13 Apr 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tacoma, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Infoblox (Tacoma, WA) in Mar 2017

      Interview

What a total joke. I have an 8 year background in technology sales. The first person I interviewed with was going to be my supervisor had been with the company all of 2 weeks. I was told I was interviewing for an Inside Sales position, during the interview I was told I would be interviewing for a different position basically setting appointments for sales reps. I have no idea how long he has been in the tech industry as he only spent around 15 minutes with me before he left saying he had to catch a flight but, what I did gather was he is in way over his head. Once he left, two other guys finished my interview. One of them had been with the company for 2 weeks and the other had been with the company only 4 days. They had no clue what they were doing, previously one of them had sold Pods, the storage containers that are delivered to your house and the other had been a sale rep for a beer distributor. After being tested through a mundain testing that gives no inclination how well a person can sell, I was interviewed by a group of the least qualified people possible. I was not offered a position and the reason given was a feeling "I could not grasp the technology Infoblox creates". Two guys with zero background in the tech industry think I wouldn't understand something as simple and network management and network security. Right.... when I chuckled at this statement, they said the real reason was that "I wouldn't be a good fit for the company culture". You've been with the company for 2 weeks, what could you possibly know about the company culture. It should be noted the recruiter who had been with the company for years was quitting due to the changes going on with Infoblox. At the end of all this, I'm glad I wasn't offered a position, I wouldn't ever wish to work for this cracked up company.

      Question 1

Doesn't matter, the interview was a total joke. More time was spent patting themselves on the back than asking me any questions.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Infoblox (Tacoma, WA) in Feb 2017

      Interview

The reviews on the company were mixed but they seemed very reputable so I wanted move forward. They are very thorough with their interviewing process to weed out unqualified people which I could see how some candidates may not appreciate. They don't even talk to you until you pass 2 tough tests which gets them the best candidates possible it seems. Passed the tests and moved on to interview first with the recruiter, next interview with Sales Manager, then final interview with Global Sales Director. Through the whole process I could feel that they wanted to build the best team possible. Everyone was really informative, and seemed to be excited for the future of the company which made me excited to be there as well. The interviews went great and I felt like it was a great fit as did they because they sent an offer which I accepted.
