* F2F - 2 Tech, 1 Manger, 1 HR Round *
While checking in at the office, I met a btech junior. This info will become relevant soon in this article.
Technical rounds focused on Programming and Problem Solving - very thorough with complexity analysis. I confirmed with the interviewers that they were from the team with the vacancy. I noticed that both had the exact same practiced answer when asked about the team and nature of work.
Lunch was provided with a break of an hour. I reached out to my junior with the team and interviewers names. Got the whole picture of the nature of work and it was very different.
Manager round was about career goals and aspirations. The guy kept repeating that the work environment is very light weight. I questioned a lot about the team and nature of work. I was able to figure out that he was not being entirely honest about the role.
HR round was very light and was made a pretty handsome offer. I agreed to the offer and asked him to roll it out and mail me a copy for review before I signed the acceptance.
By evening, I got the employment contract and compensation details in 2 separate mails. I was more than happy with the compensation. I reached out to the HR about my concern in the difference in the nature of work between the one explained by the manager and by my source. After an hour he called me back and clarified that the role was Product Dev & Maintenance. When I declined the offer, he offered me an extra 10% sign-up bonus.
