      Visiting Assistant Professor Interview

      6 Sept 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Bloomington, IN
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) in Jul 2016

      Interview

The whole process took about three weeks from application to my first day. After sending in my resume on the recommendation of a coworker, I had two phone interviews and then was hired. I think I am a unique case though because the department had suddenly lost a different professor and I had to be hired before school started.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you manage balancing technical ability with conceptual thought (in an art class?) What is your art practice like? What is your teaching experience?

Happy to hear the process went well for you. Employee referrals are an excellent source of hires for us, especially when our employees making the referral consider IU an Employer of Choice. Glad to see by the way you rated things that you feel the same way about IU as an Employer of Choice.
