The interview went very well in the beginning and lasted about 30mins. The job duties involved basically working with all kinds of instrumental analysis, plus travelling and providing your own car for that. All of it sounded pretty interesting and exciting until the salary was mentioned: 35k. I was told that that I would start with a low salary which would increase with the years I'd work there...But how can you even afford a car with such a low salary? The average in NY is about 50k, which my interviewer didn't believe. They never got back to me afterwards, which was fine with me.
