      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed

      Interview

I applied for the role and within an hour, I had an email from a recruiter asking me to provide him with times to schedule a phone interview. The recruiter did a good job connecting with me and he gave me a great impression about Indeed. Within hours of the phone screen, the recruiter notifies me I was successful and that I was going to be scheduled for a video interview with the hiring manager. I waited for days and I finally received a response saying they were trying to get me to interview with the newly appointed VP of HR but her schedule didn't work out, so instead they decided to schedule a video interview with the hiring manager. Unfortunately the hiring manager was horrible and unprofessional. I was stood up on my scheduled video interview by the hiring manager. I had made personal arrangements with my employer in order to attend the video interview. Two minutes after the agreed start time of the interview, I was informed via email that the hiring manager was running late due to a meeting and that she would join the video call shortly. I waited and waited for 30 minutes and she never showed up. I checked my email and noticed I had message from 25 minutes after the scheduled start time, to inform me the manager cannot make it and to reschedule. This was very inconsiderate and a waste of my time. The interview was rescheduled and this time the hiring manager showed up. It was clear she was sitting in her kitchen at her home and she was very casual about missing our first scheduled interview. She barely apologized and she went straight into her questions without introducing herself as if she was just going through the process. She was very cold and it became clear after 10 minutes she was not interested in me. Quite frankly, it felt that she was just trying to get the interview over with and I am glad it didn't work out because this hiring manager looks clueless and doesn't have much emotional intelligence. I am glad indeed rejected me as I would not have accepted an offer to join the company with her as my manager. At the same time I was interviewing with Microsoft and had a much better experience with them. I received an offer to join Microsoft and gladly accepted.
