I applied online. I interviewed at InMotion Ventures (London, England) in Jan 2022
Interview
Wasn’t too welcoming, a man and a woman (senior management accountant) was extremely surprised why my degree wasn’t in Finance, extremely strange as many accountants don’t have Finance degrees, (KPMG, PwC, EY, Deloitte) graduate schemes welcome all disciplines, she couldn’t seem to get over that.
Line of questioning was rather interrogative than seeking to see the skills of the individual and their experience. When asked about the level of support there would be they basically alluded to there being no support, and that the Juniour accountant would have to write up a work manual for the next employee.
As of now they haven’t found anyone for their position as they have probably realised they have terribly unrealistic expectations for a candidate, and are now posting a vacancy of “Billing Administrator”. Very disappointing as a I didn’t think Jaguar LandRover would have such a poor internal structure. Based on my experience on these kinds of working environments it isn’t a nice place to work, I wouldn’t have accepted the offer.
