      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Impart in May 2024

      Interview

Interview process consisted of a initial teams call, going through standard interview questions and slight behavioural quesitons. After which, a interview task was presented, which was an hour long where you had to review text and provide your own suggestions and improvements to the proposal. There is an example document provided for reference. Once that is done, you wait until you are shortlisted, until you are informed if you are successful, in which case, you will then do a physical face to face interview. I got through to the task stage, had to remind the hiring manager the time as to which it should be sent (I appreciate these things do happen), and did the task. Afterwards, I was told I would be informed about the outcome once they have shortlisted. While I appreciate things can get busy, and hiring processes can be long, I had radio silence for over two weeks. I emailed, asking for any further update, as I had heard nothing back, and I instead was told by the recruiter who I was working with, with no provided feedback or comments. Again, while I appreciate the hiring process is arduous, particularly for a small organisation, as a candidate in this tough labour market, who is taking a fair amount of time in order to interview and complete tasks, I would have appreciated at least an email expressing thanks for my interest, or informing me of the outcome. While the feedback would have been useful for me, it is more the courtesy of emailing me directly, rather than leaving it for someone else. It also seems, from what I was told, that they offered someone the job before I had even made it to the face to face interview! Again, these things happen, and this candidate may have been exceptional, but to leave prospective candidates in the dark, and not inform them, is unprofessional in my opinion. If you are applying with this company, either ask for as close as possible to definitive time you will hear back, or do not expect to be informed of the outcome of your process.
