I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Idea Science (Sydney) in Jun 2022
Interview
Excellent. I really enjoyed the process. I felt valued and respected during the entire process which took no more than 2 weeks.
Having the entire leadership team interview was not intimidating, they were all very personable and professional and made me feel comfortable. They paid attention throughout and having that level of attention paid and timeliness to a decision during the hiring process is a good indication of the importance they place on their staff.

Question 1
The interview was case study and a presentation, which gave me the opportunity to really demonstrate how I think and work, whilst also showcasing my work.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Idea Science (Sydney)
Interview
The hiring process had 3 parts.
The first was a meeting in a coffee shop close to their office in Sydney. This was more like a friendly chat, and the head of one of the Idea Science groups explained what the company did, how it was structured, and what the role was. I talked about what I'd done before and what I was looking for.
The second part was a presentation where I was asked to talk about something I'd worked on before, what the challenges had been and how we'd met them. It was interesting because I think my presentation was pretty short but with all the questions and discussion we ended up taking up a full hour.
The third part was a follow up meeting with 2 people. They asked more questions about how I'd approach different problems, how I'd work within the team, and what I wanted to be doing.
Overall it seemed like a very organised process and different from what I'd experienced before. The presentation part challenged me a bit but I think that was intentional.

Question 1
What was one time that you failed at something with work, and what did you learn from it?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Idea Science (Sydney) in Feb 2017
Interview
I was referred to Idea Science through a friend who works there.
The interview process was different and engaging compared to other interview processes I had been through previously and meant I really got to know the organisation and understood what the organisation was looking for.
The first step involved a coffee chat with the COO to have an informal conversation about Idea Science as a company, history and future and talk through my own background and experiences. This meant I was able to see whether I was a good fit for Idea Science but more importantly for me, whether Idea Science was a good fit for me.
After agreeing that Idea Science was a good fit on both sides, I was asked to prepare a short 5-10 minute presentation to a group of appropriate team members. As a university student when I applied, they encouraged me to explain any previous work experiences or university experiences. Given I hadn't had much experience in the industry, they were incredibly welcoming and understanding.
Overall, the interview process was interesting and meant that I could understand the organisation well before making any decisions and the type of team I would be working with.
