Full hiring process was about a month long. Included a recruiter call; two interviews: one with a director, one with a team member; an assessment and a presentation to the team.

Question 1
What is your strategy to put together a media campaign?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at IW Group in Apr 2024
Interview
It was 3 rounds, over the span of 2 months/ 8.5 weeks -
1) 1v1 HR interview (30m interview)- pretty standard conversation
2) 3v1 Group Leadership interview (30m)- this was surprisingly awkward. There was very little time for much conversation (to build any rapport), a lot of dead air from leadership and hiring manager. Approx. 1 question from each person (strat, creative and 2 account).
3) 3v1 Individual assessment/ project (up to 1hr)- This step was an up hill battle for many reasons. 1) The ask spans across all departments of an agency, but they're requiring 1 individual to supply that in a week (strategy, budget, psychographics, demographics, rationale, creative concepting, timing, template design, etc.) 2) the ask did not have all of the expectations of the agency for example the ask said "We would like you to prioritize the best target segment" but during the live presentation they expressed they were expecting to see asian targets since they are an asian focused agency. 3) There were other details that normally a creative team would need in order to concept but was also not included in the prompt (for example "special collabs with select sneaker and fashion brands" but does that mean Nike or Channel or Supreme or Sketchers- all of these brands are very much different and would require different approaches) 4) In my experience, typically you wouldn't present all of this material to the client like this. You would normally have this over the span of a couple of weeks, checkpoints and feedback rounds. But including it all in one deck and conversation, under 50mins, was odd.
This step took about 20-30hrs of work and likely about $2-3k of invested personal time to create. It took about 5 weeks to hear a response.
It was very casual. First, I had a screening call with HR. Then, I interviewed with my direct superior before I was passed to two executives for my final interview.
