      Associate Consultant, Forecasting Interview

      2 Nov 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Plymouth Meeting, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IQVIA (Plymouth Meeting, PA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

I would like to describe the complete interview process. This was an interview for an Associate consulting position for the forecasting and Market Analytics COS team. First round was interview with a Senior Consultant. Asked about prior experiences that relates to the job and briefly described how they work in IQVIA. It was much of the routine. Next round was an online panel interview with two engagement managers. They asked in depth questions about forecasting and market research and how it related to some of my prior work experience. It was an easy interview round I would say. Next round was an interview with senior principal. This one I would say was the worst ever interview in my life. The Senior Principal interviewing me seemed unprepared as I felt he/she hasn't even seen my resume or feedback from prior interview round. Throughout the conversation, he/she never mentioned about his role in the team or about his association with IQVIA and what he/she looking for in this job position. Had an overly casual attitude for conducting the interview. It felt as if you are talking to some random person in a restaurant. He /she was trying very to make up some business case to have the conversation moving. But wasn't able to provide good data points and framework for the business case. Since the questions were very vague and random, obviously my answers can't be to the point and he / she was giggling while I was answering. To me that's very derogatory behavior coming from someone related to top management in IQVIA. There could have been a polite way of saying that I feel that somehow you aren't a good fit for the company and that's enough for a candidate, rather that making a mockery out of someone. I have a graduate degree from one of the Ivy league universities so I know my stuff pretty well. This kind of behavior from a senior principal suggested to me that he / she wasn't updated with the latest trends in the market which recently graduate students are well versed with and instead of pulling up their socks and acknowledging talent, try to ask vague question to confuse the candidate and make fun of the.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One of the questions that the senior partner asked was you are pharma brand manager for a company X and now you have to go to IT and ask why is my brand declining since last week? (Now what has IT to do with that? I believe he/she was confusing data analytics team with IT team. IT is just responsible for keeping the webpage and other internet related stuff up to date.) Another vague question was in what section is IQVIA registered as an industry (As per what I see in google, I said healthcare and hospital consulting. I saw that at 3 different websites). He / she said no you don't know anything about the company and all! I mean I am applying for an entry to mid level job and he /she is expecting me to have a knowledge as if I am a partner of the company or have approached them for a business dealing. I just wonder next time they might ask somebody as question as to what indices does IQVIA trades in the stock market?
