I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ING (Amsterdam) in Nov 2010
Interview
- Logistics & planning arranged by a secretary by e-mail
- Interviews: 1) 1-on-1 interview with the head of the team, 2) Series of short session with the team members, 3) 1-on-1 interview with the head of the department
- Perceptions: 1) head of the team was quite technical asking about a number of models and testing solution solving capacities, behavior in situations when you do not know the answer, the future vision of projects was inspirational, 2) team members treated their sessions more as a get-to-know and asked a few questions related to their day-to-day activities. 3) The office space was great with open space and a lot of light. 4) In regards to work culture, hierarchy seemed flat, activities carefully planned and prioritized. The department was expanding at that time and a lot of inter-team relations were still relatively informal.
