      Philadelphia, PA

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at IKEA (Philadelphia, PA) in Feb 2015

      Interview

I applied online, through my college job board. I was instructed to email a recruiter and let her know what I applied for, and she would see to it that I atleast got a phone interview. I did that and within two days a got a call from a Maryland area code. I missed the call, and tried returning it the next day and left a message for the recruiter. She called me back the next day and the phone screen took about 10 minutes. Asked questions like my experience working with someone from a different culture. I was then told that she was passing me on to interview with the Manager of that store, this was on a Friday and she gave me a choice of going the next day Saturday or Sunday. I elected Sunday, I arrived at the store 15 minutes early, and was told the manager I was meeting with hadn't arrived yet. So I filled the paper application, and waited about an half hour for him to show. When he came in took me to the interview room told me about the job, and asked me asked me about ,8-10 questions. The interview was pretty laid back, and I was in there for about an hour. He said he was going to call me by next week with a decision, be had he still had 4 more people to interview. So I'm just waiting to hear back from them, I belive the interview went really well.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at IKEA (New York, NY) in Aug 2015

      Interview

Process started with a 15 minute phone interview and I was immediately scheduled for an in-person interview at the end of the call. The interview was on a Saturday morning and it didn't seem like the manager really wanted to be there. There was no emotion in the managers voice and he seemed rather tired. The entire interview couldn't have been more than 15 minutes and he only asked about four questions.
