I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at IKEA (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2018
Interview
Applied for Kitchen specialist position in Cardiff store. I was invited to a group interview at the store. This was a friendly and fun affair, around 12 applicants were gathered around tables in a room, we introduced ourselves and then working in two groups worked out and then presented answers to questions. 1. list five points which describe excellent customer service. 2. Describe your ideal kitchen. It was all very relaxed and we were told that getting the perfect answer wasn't important. Took about 1 to 2 hours.
I was invited back for an interview after a long wait due to Christmas/January sale. Interview was with the kitchens shopkeeper with somebody from HR taking notes. I was asked a variety of questions, mostly standard retail, some slightly obscure. Then i was taken to the shopfloor and told to use the kitchen design software to design my ideal kitchen.
Very easy questions they ask…… staff was the nice to people that are getting interviewed. Very easy questions they ask…… staff was the nice to people that are getting interviewed.
