The first contact was through a first screen call (unplanned), with a general conversation about experience, the role and expectations. It was a quite straightforward conversation without going into much detail about the role or IE's expectations.
I applied online. I interviewed at IE University (Madrid) in Nov 2023
Interview
The recruitment process for this job in Spain was severely mishandled. I received a phone call during the holidays (being a reputable international school, you'd think they would keep in mind major U.S. holidays), which I could not respond to and didn't receive any voicemail or follow-up email.
After going through several departments in an attempt to contact HR, I received a response from an intern with an interview schedule which felt patronizing, as I was instructed to "make sure I pick up the phone", a communication style that seemed unprofessional.
After finally setting an interview date and time, I received no call or further communication even after multiple attempts to contact this institution.
This experience left a very unfavorable impression.
