My interview experience for this role was disappointing. The discussion felt unstructured, and there was little clarity around the purpose of the role or how it fit into the team. I did not leave with a clear understanding of timelines, next steps, or how the hiring process was expected to move forward. Overall, the experience gave me the impression that the role was not clearly defined or actively progressing, which left me with a negative view of the hiring process.

The interview process was clearly structured at every stage. The first stage focused on my experience, overall fit and suitability for the role, taking the form of a standard initial HR interview. The second stage was a more in-depth discussion with my direct report, during which the role and its likely challenges were outlined in detail, providing clarity on expectations and my ability to deliver. The final stage was a face-to-face meeting with the CEO, alongside another senior team member I would work closely with, to assess overall cultural and professional fit. Each stage offered the opportunity to further explore the role and evaluate my suitability, resulting in a thorough and well-rounded understanding of the position.
