I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at IDI Distributors (Lehigh Valley, PA) in Nov 2024
Interview
Fairly simple, meet up for Q/A. Typical questions nothing unusual. I was approached online for a recruiter about a potential phone interview. That conversation/interview went well, then you have to meet with the hiring manager for a face to face. The hiring manager is probably the branch manager.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Well they asked what my home life is like which is weird since that leans towards an illegal question. Got a bit personal. The interviewer should probably be trained better so watch your step as they might be looking for age at this place.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at IDI Distributors (Chanhassen, MN) in Jan 2020
Interview
It was a very comfortable interview and it was done virtually. It felt more like a conversation than an interview. Questions oriented toward my background, with the opportunity for me to ask questions as well.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at IDI Distributors in Nov 2022
Interview
Series of short interviews that were not very substantive. Did not seem like the interviewers knew how to ask questions to get a sense of the candidate's experience or if they were qualified. Seemed like they were winging the interview and trying to get a gut feeling. At the end of each interview they said we will be in touch if we are interested in moving forward. I get not telling someone they weren't selected to move forward in the application process, but after 3 interviews you owe it to the candidate to let them know whether you are moving forward. It doesn't even need to be a call, at least an email. I was told that I was moving forward to the last step with a final interview with HR and after 1 week of nothing I emailed the hiring manager for update and was told they would circle back with HR and they weren't sure what the hold up was...and then completely ghosted from that point on.
