      Researcher Interview

      15 Nov 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ICF

      Interview

For an entry level job requiring no experience (although I had it), the process was a 1-hour writing assessment, 3.5 hours of interviews, and a submitted cover letter and resume. It was all a lot to prepare for and very time consuming, only for them to go with someone else last minute. Very long, time-consuming process for a simple entry-level position and no offer.

      No offer
      Positive experience

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ICF

      Interview

There were three interview rounds: (1) hiring manager, (2) manager on the team that you would be working for, (3) three interviews with additional teammates (including supervisors and a peer), as well as a 45-minute writing test. The hiring manager and other recruiting staff were thoughtful and responsive. Each team member I talked with was passionate, welcoming, and honest. This was a wonderful and enriching experience! Be prepared for behavioral interview questions (the questions may be relatively common, but reflection and practice beforehand is important!), including discussing your past experiences / projects / skills and relating them to the position.

      Question 1

What are your data analysis skills like (for example, in GIS or Excel)? Describe a project and the tools you used.
