I was invited for a second-round interview after a positive first round with one of the co-founders. I was told I would be meeting the company’s founder for the final round.
I arrived punctually and the co-founder asked me to wait at the meeting room. No one attended to me for nearly 45mins. Despite sending messages to follow up, I received no responses.
Nearly 2 hours later, long after I had left, I finally received a brief apology via WhatsApp. While I appreciated the gesture, the lack of communication during the scheduled time was unprofessional, especially given that this was a meeting with the founder.
After this experience, I revisited some of the employee reviews online, and unfortunately found that many of the concerns about company culture, leadership, and professionalism were consistent with what I had just experienced. In hindsight, it may have been a blessing that things did not progress further.
